Our family is beyond grateful to be part of the SMEDS community!  We were initially drawn to the preschool for the convenience of it being in our neighborhood, but we have been blown away by the nurturing, grounded, and enriching experience our children have had while attending preschool here.  Our oldest not only created friendships here that I know will extend far beyond preschool, but he entered his kindergarten year with the academic and social emotional skills he needed to confidently begin his next educational chapter. 

As parents, we feel so connected to the staff and families in this community as well.  I have never witnessed a teaching staff so loyal, and so committed to helping our little ones flourish in this world.  I know the years we spend here will lay such a positive foundation for both of our boys, and our family.

"I just wanted to share with you how your teaching has prepared our daughter for kindergarten- even during this virtual time. She had a virtual reading assessment with her teacher today, and she knew all her letters+sounds, knew some sight words, and was able to sound out other words. Her teacher was so pleased with how well she was already beginning to read! She asked what school she went to before kindergarten and we shared we were a part of St. Mark's. She wrote it down and said "that is so good to know so that when parents ask me for school recommendations, I can tell them St. Mark's prepares young readers". What an amazing compliment! We were so proud, and we are so thankful for you both for all the wonderful teaching you do to prepare these children. We miss St. Mark's so much, and we hope to see you all soon!
